Fancy making a beautiful Wet Felted Christmas Stocking as a special artisanal treat for yourself or a loved one?
Join felt-maker Penny Dixon, to make a fabulous, wet felted Christmas stocking from soft wool. During this workshop you will learn how to handle unspun wool fibres and place them correctly over a stocking shaped resist. You will be shown how to build your fibres carefully to cover both sides of the resist.
Choose from a variety of decorative silks and other fibres to create a really special surface texture. There will be scrumptious curly wool, soft silks and glitzy sparkles too!
Using soap and water you will learn a variety of techniques to agitate the fibres enabling them to form a beautiful strong piece of felted fabric.
You will also learn the correct time to remove the resist and begin to work the inside of the piece to form a seamless felted stocking.
Your stocking may become part of your traditional home decor or even a family heirloom!
